Buttons: Mother of Pearl 

Tencel is a brand name for lyocell fibres made from wood pulp. It feels silky and smooth with a cool drape, and it breathes well, and suitable for sensitive skin. Compared with polyester, it absorbs moisture instead of trapping it, so it feels less clammy. As a plant-based fibre, it is biodegradeable. Tencel lyocell is made in a closed-loop process that recovers most of its solvent, from wood sourced from certified forests (FSC or PEFC).

Merino is a fine, soft wool that feels much gentler on the skin than ordinary wool, so it rarely itches. It insulates well, even when damp, and regulates temperature, keeping you warm in the cold and comfortable when it’s milder. It resists odour, so you can wear it several times between washes. With good care it lasts for years. As a natural protein fibre, it can break down in soil far more readily than polyester.

With any garments that uses wool, we always suggest to air or hang in a cool place to refresh, as opposed to frequent washing - since wool has a near 'self cleaning' property. This garment should only be washed on a delicate or hand wash cycle on cold - max 30 C degrees.

Mother-of-pearl is the shimmering inner layer of mollusc shells, used for buttons and trim. Each piece has its own lustre and a cool, smooth feel that plastic imitations rarely match. It is hard and durable, though it can chip if knocked. It isn’t made from petroleum and doesn’t shed microplastics.
